THE GREENWOOD TREE MONTHLY June 2005

THE GREENWOOD TREE MONTHLY
A PANTHEIST PUBLICATION PUBLISHED BY ROBINS HOOD

COMMUNITY CENTER

WITCHES BALL, FAERIE FEST and QADISHTI FEST

What do all three of these festivals have in common?
Two are owned by Robins Hood CommUnity Center (Witches Ball and Faerie Fest). And Kelevhquadesh owns Qadishti Fest. All three were formed to benefit Robins Hood CommUnity Center and will be this year! Efforts are underway to ensure that Robins Hood will return stronger than Ever.
The Cincinnati Witches Ball will be on October
15th at the Southgate House in Newport Kentucky.
Faerie Fest June 14 thru the 19th
Qadishti Fest is August 10th thru the 14th. Proceeds from each
Festival will go to benefit Robins Hood CommUnity
Center.
The Cincinnati Witches Ball is in its 5th year. The
Witches Ball idea came out of the fertile minds of the
Occult shop 5 years ago. In 2002 when Ms. Campaniello
took over The Witches Ball her sympathetic soul decided to
start and maintain what is known today as Robins Hood
CommUnity Center. The CommUnity Center helps the
indigent and homeless. As well as use the Center for
what is known now as a loitering center for the homeless in the winter.
This year as in every year since it’s conception the location
of the Witches Ball will be held at the Southgate House
in Newport Kentucky.
Faerie Fest is being held on June 14th thru the 19th at Our
Haven in French Lick Indiana. Faerie Fest started in the same
year that The Witches Ball did by Ms. Campaniello. The proceeds have gone to the same charity, Robins Hood CommUnity Center.
Qadishti Fest is a following of sacred sexuality. This
Institution has been a dead religion for centuries. Through the
sensitive nature of Kelevhquadesh. This religion has been brought back to life again today. To celebrate this adventure in sacred sexuality Qadishti Fest was formed. This festival is an ADULT ONLY festival!
If you are sensitive about seeing your fellow human beings skyclad then I suggest that you not go. This festival also will go to benefit Robins Hood CommUnity Center. This festival is also being held at Our Haven in French Lick Indiana

ROGER TINSLY
BY REV BONNIE CAMPANIELLO
Most of you remember Roger – the
homeless man who helped us move,
and the one I picked up at the
hospital the night I left the
coven meeting. You also might
remember how he kept interrupting
and how badly he wanted us to cover
Sagittarius at the meeting we had
about Astrology. Roger is also the man who found Joe
Young's body. This morning, Roger's
body was recovered from the Ohio River
near Vevay, Indiana. He fell off the Clay Wade Bailey
Bridge 2 weeks ago, and Covington Police
have been searching for him.
The only personal item found on his
body was a piece of paper that said
"Mom: 859-743-6454 or 859-431-5814"
Those are my home cellphone numbers. I am working with Larry at Recovery
Network to arrange a memorial service
for Roger. I will post details when they
are available. Please keep Roger in your
prayers. While he had an alcohol addiction, he was a wonderful man.

ROBINS HOOD IN WITCHVOXArticle by Charlene Suggs

No Pagan faith-based charities in this country? Tell that to the thousands of people that have been fed, helped, or sheltered by Robins Hood CommUNITY Center (RHCC) in the 2½ years since it opened its doors. The play on the name? Robin's Hood is a Pagan run community shelter that accepts what the wealthy doesn’t need and distributes it to the poor who are in need -- without red tape. Founded by the Reverend Bonnie Campaniello, an Eclectic Pagan with an Egyptian focus, the center is a landmark model of Pagans helping people in need. It serves a tri-state region of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana residents. Located in Covington, KY across from the Cincinnati/Dayton, OH area, it welcomes all who come through the doors. In 2001, Campaniello turned an inheritance from her grandfather into the initial endowment for this center to help people struggling with their day-to-day needs. When asked why she decided to do this with her money of all the things she could have brought herself, she shrugged it off and said, No one else was doing it. This energetic High Priestess is too busy helping others to spend much time talking about herself. Bonnie is quick to credit all those who help her with this entity. Many of the volunteers that help staff the center are also members of the coven Not quite a Coven of the Fainting Goats and also includes some members of the Pagan Community Council of Ohio (PCCO). Volunteer supporter Jill Medicine Heart says of RHCC, Rev. Bonnie has a tireless heart and spirit for her community. Her dream and vision of Robin's Hood CommUNITY Center is a notable one. She is a Helper of People and a Helper of Spirit. Bonnie needs to keep RHCC running to continue helping the homeless and the hungry in Covington. There are just too many instances that without a resource to come to, the homeless are being beaten and killed on the streets or freezing in the cold frigid temperatures. There is a continued need for the help and support." The center is having a crisis right now which we could easily turn into a blessing: Robins Hood had to suspend their operations in January. The aging building they rented had the insurance cancelled and RHCC had to vacate. Here, in the Cincinnati, OH suburbs, Robins Hood needs a building that is both affordable and chunks of the ceiling don’t fall down. Recently, Bonnie found a perfect building but needs the help of the national community to make it happen. The new building can serve more people and has a kitchen, multiple baths, a laundry room and other useful amenities. Best of all, the building comes with an option to purchase after a year of leasing! If

able to purchase a building, the center stands a much better chance to establish itself for a long time in the area. See www.robinshood.org for updates on the building search and more information. When they were up and running, the numbers of people they helped were impressive, particularly for a privately-funded volunteer organization. In three months, they helped 300+ people. Last fall, 51 children were outfitted with school supplies. On Thanksgiving Day, 225 people were fed a good holiday meal. All together, thousands of people have been warmed, fed, helped, and sheltered. Need has no holidays. Bonnie and her crew helped two families whose duplex burned down during the solstice holidays. With the recent Florida hurricanes and tsunami disaster, the world’s attention and aid is being funneled into places that make the news. While aid to all is important, the point is that when national/international charities are overburdened, regional helping places such as Robins Hood become even more important to help the everyday lives of Americans in need. Robins Hood can (and has) meant the difference between life and death. Local homeless people often sleep on the banks of the Ohio River during cold winter nights which dip into single-digit and sub-zero temperatures. Over the winter, the center expanded its operations to allow more people to loiter indoors overnight to avoid the bitter weather.

SPELL OF THE MONTH By Ann Moura

After consecrating a Tarot Deck, to prevent outside influences from invading your cards, Set it on a pentacle at the center of your altar with a white candle lit at either side. In front of the pentacle, light a stick of frankincense or lavender incense. Wrap a black thread around the deck and say; "This Tarot is mine, consecrated to my use,Bound by the thread that ties it to me.I charge that no unwanted influence hold sway over these cardsBy Air (pass through incense smoke)By Fire (pass quickly through candle flame)By Water (breathe quickly over cards with open mouth)and by Earth (set on pentacle.) Remove and store the thread to wrap the deck whenever needed.

Alternative Divination Techniques
Source: unknown to me
Divination is a very, very broad topic. It includes many different methods that may, on the surface, appear completely different but are all the same on a basic level. Usually, once you’ve mastered one kind of divination you’re able to attempt others with ease. For some, it’s a matter of getting into the state of mind to allow them to see beyond. For others, it’s a matter of letting go of the corporeal reality temporarily and giving in to your intuition and often imagination. Listed below are some of the less typical (but still legitimate) forms of divination you may want to have a look at and try out. If not, they’re still interesting to read.

Aeromancy: Divination by observation of atmospheric phenomena, such as clouds, storms, winds etc.
A(i)lectryomancy: Divination by the actions of a cockerel placed within a circle marked round with the alphabet, each letter covered by a grain of corn. An aspect of ornithomancy.
Aleuromancy: Divination practised with flour. One method is to roll possible actions/futures into balls of flour, mix the balls, and draw one at random. Apollo is said to have presided over this form of divination. Can refer to the modern "fortune cookie".
Alomancy: Divination by salt, possibly similar to sand reading.
Alphitomancy: Divination, especially of guilt, by wheat or barley. It was believed that the guilty would suffer unconcealable stomach pains after eating such.
Amniomancy: Divination by the caul that may cover a child's face at birth.
Astragalomancy: Divination by casting ankle or knuckle bones (the precursors of dice) onto which symbols or words might have been inscribed.
Astrology: Divination by the stars and planets, their positions and movements.
Augury: Divination by study of the auspices, i.e. signs from birds, animals, the heavens etc. Roman.
Austromancy: Divination by the winds.
Axinomancy: Divination by the axe. One method was to toss the axe into the air so that it would come down blade first; the direction and angle of the handle was then studied. This was sometimes done to aid in the location or identification of a thief or stolen object. Another method was to place a piece of agate or jet on a red hot axe blade and study its motion - this was used to find buried treasure, or (by the ancient Greeks) to identify criminals. Axinomancy was sometimes used to determine an auspicious place for giving birth.
Belomancy: Divination by arrows. Many forms are known. The Babylonians and Syrians attached labels were to a number of arrows, that which was shot furthest being accepted (see Ezekiel 21:21). Alternatively, an arrow was shot straight up in the air, and its course and landing observed. A third method, used by the Greeks and later the Arabians) was to shoot arrows at a rock and then interpret the resultant marks. The Tibetans placed two arrows, tip downwards, in a vessel and interpreted their movements. Another method was to inscribe or attach possible futures to arrows in a quiver, one then being selected at random.
Bibliomancy: Divination by means of the random selection of passages from the Bible or other tome.
Botanomancy: Divination by leaves (various methods).
Capnomancy: Divination by smoke.
Catoptromancy: Divination through the use of mirrors.
Cartomancy: Divination by cards (esp. Tarot)
Causmomancy: Divination by watching burning embers
Cephalomancy: Divination by use of a donkey's skull.
Ceraunomancy: Divination by observation of wind strength, direction etc.
Ceroscopy: Divination by molten wax, which is poured onto cold water - the resultant patterns of hardening wax are observed.
Cheiromancy: Palmistry; divination by the marks and lines on the hands.
Cleidomancy: Divination by a key suspended by thread, held between thumb and forefinger. On being lowered into a glass, and a question asked, the key would tap once on the side of the glass for a positive answer, and twice for a negative.
Cleromancy: Divination by the casting of lots or dice.
Cyclomancy: Divination by the study of a turning wheel (perhaps the origin of the "wheel of fortune"?)
Dactyliomancy: Divination by finger-rings

TEEN PROSPECTIVE

By Midnite and Nightwolf

My view of ROBINS HOOD
ROBINS HOOD is a CommUnity center for the homeless. As most of us pagans sit up all night, and watch over the homeless
We give them a chance to live, by giving them: Food, clothes, and socks, and even cough drops.
WE take a moment of our time to listen to a story of how they became homeless.

But when the homeless came to ROBINS HOOD all the little things that we gave them, we gave from what is new or had been used and to them it always is like a Christmas present.
During the Thanksgiving feast for the homeless, we had at least 250 homeless people show that night to eat. That night we also gave the homeless a warm place to sleep, which made each and everyone of us feel good in our hearts.
I feel proud to be a part of R.H.C.C.
