SPELL OF THE MONTH
NONCOMMUNICATION SPELL
Sometimes we need to avoid communicating with someone, maybe a neighbor who has been troublesome or a partner who has been abusive.
In these cases, every time they contact you, say the following:
I SALUTE THE GODDESS (or God for male)
AND ALL THAT IS GOOD IN (name of person)
AND I SET YOU FREE
This releases their energy ties to you.
It also blesses them by recognizing their true soul.
They will leave you alone in a short time.

HERBS TO LIVE BY
By Barbara Dreamkeeper
Growing Herbs Indoors
Sun-loving herbs need at least six hours of sun a day to thrive, which is why many do not do well indoors.
With inadequate light, plants become thin and elongated, producing smaller leaves and a poorer aroma. When selecting a location for herbs indoors, keep in mind that the reflective properties of glass can reduce light by 30 to 50 percent.
Consider also the outside environment; a large white wall or glass surface facing a window can act as a mirror reflecting back much of the light; conversely an apparently sunny window can have its light reduced because of deep eaves or a wall.
An interior white wall and glossy surfaces also make more light available. Turn herbs a little each day so all parts receive the same amount of sun, or consider artificial lighting as a supplementary source.
Basil requires the sunniest position and tolerates dry air.
Thyme, sage, marjoram, pelargoniums and dwarf lavender also enjoy direct sun.
Dill, savory and chives like full sun but a cooler temperature.
Rosemary likes a bright situation (this can be reflected light) but prefers a cooler atmosphere of about 60'F to produce its flowers.
Coriander, salad burnet and parsley also prefer this combination.
Tarragon and lemon balm take full sun but tolerate light shade.
Mint and chervil enjoy some sun but not the hot midday sun, and both like a moist, cool soil.
Lemon verbena and bay prefer filtered sun with rich soil in a cool spot.
Temperature
Most herbs prefer a pleasantly warm temperature of between 60-70'F with a 10'F drop at night.
Herbs will tolerate from 45 -7 5 'F but do not thrive at the lower temperatures.
Draughts affect growth and survival. A door opened in cold weather causes a sharp drop in temperature, an open fire draws in a large amount of the air from any cracks or openings, creating draughts in a straight line to the fire, and single-glazed windows allow enormous temperature drops in the sill area during the night.
Every sharp temperature drop is a stressful shock to an herb and weakens its constitution, so attempt to position herbs where there will be a minimum of shocks.
Although herbs do not like draughts, they do like some fresh air each day. This removes stale air,
hinders airborne diseases and helps to disperse possible oil or gas fumes from heating systems.
Watering
Potted herbs indoors and out are more vulnerable than plants in the open ground and more dependent on your care. Pots outside dry out very quickly not just from the top but also from every direction.
During hot weather check the soil each day. In autumn water only when the soil is dry, particularly the aromatic herbs such as thyme and rosemary.
Seedlings usually need daily watering. Herbs with large, soft leaves, in hot sun, in active growth or in small pots also need frequent watering.
Plants prefer a substantial watering when dry to a little water more frequently, as sometimes the bottom area of soil does not receive moisture. It is best to use tepid water and apply it in the morning, so excess moisture evaporates during the day.
If uncertain about the need to water, wait another day, then water. For accurate guidance with indoor plants, small stick gauges are available which change color as the moisture level changes.
Simply push them into the soil.
Do not over water. Air is an important requirement for root hairs, and if vital air pockets in the soil are eliminated by water logging, a perfect environment is created for root-rot fungus to thrive.
If a pot with a peat-based mixture has dried out and become very light, this will create a gap between the pot and soil. Plunge the pot in water for 15 minutes or more to just below the rim of the pot. This allows the water to permeate the peat. If poured in, it will run down between the pot
and the soil. Peat particles have a natural waterproof coating, which helps retain moisture when it is wet but actually prevents water being absorbed if it has dried out. Many modern mixtures have a wetting agent added to counteract this.
Moisture in the atmosphere is also important to most herbs.
Grouping plants together helps create a humid environment, as does a layer of sphagnum moss on the soil's surface; you can also place the pots on trays of moist pebbles, vermiculite or perlite. A quick spray of tepid water with a mist atomizer all around the plants is useful in hot weather, especially for herbs with soft leaves such as basil.
Ensure that all containers are adequately drained. Indoors they require a drip tray or outer container where excess water can collect.
A large tray containing clean gravel is best as this holds the herbs above excess water, and can double as a humidifier.
Feeding Herbs that are regularly harvested need feeding with a weak liquid fertilizer every two weeks in spring and summer, reduced to a monthly feed as the growth rate slows. Do not feed plants during the winter, and never use more fertilizer than the manufacturer's instructions recommend.
Leaf blemishes
Pale yellow leaves or yellow spotting, as frequently seen on the outside leaves of parsley, fennel and overcrowded seedlings, are an indication that fertilizer is needed. Other signs of Malnourishment are lower leaves dropping early and weak growth with susceptibility to disease.
Signs of over- fertilization are equally easy to spot. The most common are brown patches or scorched edges to leaves and possibly malformed leaves.
A blanket of green moss, liverworts or slime means an excess of nitrogen. This usually occurs in winter when plants are dormant, and it is less likely to develop in dry interiors.
Types of fertilizer
Liquid fertilizers, properly dissolved in water, are reliable and can be applied from above or below. Slow-release fertilizer tablets and sticks are available to push into the soil, but they can create spots of concentrated fertilizer. For indoor use, there are also mats impregnated with nutrients, which feed the plant through base watering.
If you buy larger evergreen herbs in pots, you may notice little white globules, smaller than peas, mixed with the soil. These are slow-release fertilizer pellets, which provide feed for a whole growing season.
Herbal fertilizers
You can grow and make your own herbal fertilizers from a surprising number of herbs. One corn Frey plant in a small barrel or a 12 in (30 cm) pot will provide four crops a year. Comfrey fertilizer (see recipe on p. 131) supplies the three primary fertilizing ingredients: nitrogen, phosphorus and abundant potash, as well as several trace elements and minerals.
To make up a standard fertilizer, follow this basic recipe:
Pour 4 cups of boiling water over a good handful of fresh herb or 2 tablespoons dried herb,
Cover and allow to infuse for at least 10 minutes. Strain the infusion through cheesecloth before using.
Select from the following:
Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara) - for sulfur and potassium.
Couch grass (Agropyron repens) - although a weed, is rich in minerals, potassium and silica.
Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) - supplies copper.
Dill (Anethum graveolens) - is rich in minerals, potassium, sulfur and sodium.
Fat hen (Chenopodium album) - contains iron and other minerals.
Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) - The sprouted seed heads are rich in nitrates and calcium.
Horsetail (Equisetum hyemale) - is high in silica.
Nettle (Urtica djoica) - is a treasure house of iron, nitrogen and several minerals and trace
elements.
Sunflower (Hellanthus annuus) - The ash of sunflower stalks is high in potash.
Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) - is rich in potassium and other minerals.
Tealeaves - contain nitrogen, phosphoric acid, manganese and potash. These are locked in the tannin but released by brewing.
Yarrow (Achilles mille folium) - provides copper and is a good general fertilizer.
Artificial Lighting
Special fluorescent lights are available that supply the radiation required by plants for
photosynthesis. These will improve the growth of herbs indoors, particularly where there is little natural light.
Alternatively, you can combine two domestic fluorescent lights, one 11 cool white" and one "warm white," for a similar effect. Use available daylight first and top up with fluorescent lights in the evening to achieve the optimum 15 hours a day for good seed germination and maximum plant growth. These lights should be sited 6-9 inches above small herbs and 12 '16 inches above larger herbs.
If the lights are too close to the herbs, the leaves will become scorched; if too far away, the plants will grow tall and spindly.
Care and Cleaning
If your water has a high lime content, which manifests itself as a white deposit on the soil's surface, scrape it off periodically and top up with fresh compost. To remove lime from the surface of bay leaves, wipe gently with a clean damp cloth.
You could use a water-filter jug for lime-free water.
A mist spray of water on the leaves of all indoor herbs helps to keep any dust from clogging their pores. An occasional wipe is necessary if you have any larger-leaved plants in the kitchen, where a fine film of grease builds up and acts as a magnet for dust.
As a rule, the kitchen is not a good place to grow herbs because of the temperature
variations and cooking fumes. Use a pipe cleaner or brush to dust woolly leaved herbs, as shown below.
Remove any dead or damaged leaves and faded flowers rather than have them rot on the parent plant.

Dropping the P-Bomb
Heilsa!
Some of you may experience the dilemma in telling anyone that you're Pagan. I tend to call this process "Dropping the P-Bomb." Why? It has the potential to (as Bonnie puts it) shake up someone's Etch-a-Sketch.
So... how do you go about doing it?
Here are few suggestions:
1. If you think it's going to do anyone any harm in this divulgence INCLUDING YOURSELF, then DON'T SAY ANYTHING. Being disowned is harmful.
2. Telling a family member: Just tell them, only if you are sure it would not do any harm. I've had to do this for my sister and my brother only to find out that they're pagan too! Now. As for the harm part? I am pretty sure my mother would have a massive epileptic fit, if I told her, so it's better if I didn't. These people generally wouldn't love you any less. You're their flesh and blood.
3. Telling a friend. If this is a new friend, have the friend get to know you better. Unless you've severely misled them, the friend at this point would like you for your personality. They like hanging out with you for some god-forsaken reason. Don't make it a subject, until the subject comes up. Let the universe judge the time. If the friend decides to part ways with you after that, then it's not meant to be. A real friend will stick by you, no matter what your religious affiliation is.
4. Telling work. This needs not be a case at all. It is actually quite illegal for your place of employment to ask for your religious affiliations, so why volunteer the information? Unless your place of employment has a totally liberal diversity program, don't ask, don't tell. If you feel the need to meditate during work, go to the bathroom. If you feel the need to do ritual, write down your concern for the ritual on a piece of paper, put the paper into your pocket, and wait until you get home. That piece of paper will have plenty of ritual energy to give it a nice kick-start when you actually perform the ritual.
5. This is the only exception to #1: Telling your spouse. Your spouse needs to know. Coming home to find you sitting in the middle of a circle of candles with a pentacle drawn in the middle of the circle may freak someone out a bit. Okay, so I dramatized it a little. This is a difficult issue, because you will get the 20 questions. If the person is really closed-minded about the issue, it
may lead to serious marital problems. If your spouse is totally against it, then counseling would be in order. If your spouse chooses not to talk with you about it, I think counseling would be in order
for this too. Watch body language! It's really easy to tell, if your spouse says okay, and he/she can't look you in the eye. Your spouse needs to be totally comfortable with you. Seek counseling if you suspect otherwise.
I myself am still learning. So if any of you have any more thoughts
on this matter, I'm sure they'll be well received.
Wassail,

Automatic Writing
Contributed by Purplesoul6
http://www.crystalinks.com/automatic_writing.html
In automatic writing an entity from another realm brings messages
through by using a writing implement, a computer, or any other means of
communicating through the written word.
Sometimes the messages come in foreign languages.
Often the person does not recognize their own handwriting.
Often spaces are not made between words, there is no punctuation, a picture or symbol is part of the writing.
Some automatic writers know who is giving the messages while others do not. If the energies feel comfortable to you then you will soon learn who the entity is and why he/she is writing with you.
If you feel the least bit uncomfortable with the entity or the information received stop!
Let all information flow! Do not stop to think about what you are writing /typing.
If you feel that more than one entity is trying to write through you ask them to take their time and you will write with them one at a time. Always get a name.
Some of the best works of literature have come through channeled writing. I used to write with Zoroaster - my spiritual guide.
When I do my readings, I usually sit with a pen and pad and often find myself writing names or doodling images or symbols.
Try automatic writing.
Test to see if your information is correct.
If you feel uncomfortable stop! If automatic writing is a good tool for you - you will know right (write) away!
Getting Started
Get into a comfortable position. Today you will be seated at your computer.
Be sure you are free of distractions.
If you are not alone---tell others that you have some personal correspondence to take care of!
If you are tired --this could actually work better for you.
Now clear your mind of chatter. Feel the muscles in your body--neck--arms--shoulders-- especially your face--totally relaxed.
You are going to use your computer to talk to your guide.
Know that whatever the answer is to your questions will be written by the spirit.
Do not allow time for your mind to listen to this information. Just type.
You may even want to focus you eyes on something near the computer which keeps the left brain busy while it right brain does the channeling.
It may seem like your own thoughts at first but that is OK. It will get easier and quicker especially if you are on a computer.
This takes practice.
You are ready to type
Gently place your finger on the keyboard. You are relaxed and not concerned about what you will type.
Type today's date at the top of your page.
Mentally call one of your guides and tell him / her you want to communicate with the computer. Tell them you can only work with one guide for at a time. You may select the guide - or perhaps it is their choice.
Not all guides use automatic writing to communicate.
On the first day you must get to know who your guide is.
Type, "Hello. What is your name?"
Follow with questions about the spirit guide and his relationship with you.
I would suggest you start with simple questions that can be answered with a 'yes or no' answer.
Don't stop to think. Just allow your fingers to type the answer.
This is a time to get to know your guide and why he / she is working with you at this time.
After a few minutes you will find yourself typing more quickly. There may be mistakes in punctuation - no space between words - poor grammar - unknown words - whatever. This is not important! You can fix the typos later.
Just keep typing questions and answers.
Do not write too much on the first day. Just start slowly and feel comfortable.
You can begin again whenever you like. There are no schedule requirements. Each experience will make you more comfortable.
On the second day you can ask questions that are beyond 'yes or no' answers and get more details.
I would suggest you not ask about your love life until you are comfortable with the spirit and this form of mediumship. This is much easier when the questions are not about you.
On the second day - ask spirit (you should now have a name) –
about your spiritual work - relationship with the guide - other spiritual questions.
On the third day - as about global matters - earth changes - changes in the Millennium - other.
On the fourth day - begin personal questions but remember you can only ask a question once. Asking a question over and over again until you type your desired answer - is wrong.
Ex. "Does - - - - love me?"
If the answer is No ! Then so be it!
Change question to - "Will I find a true love? Marry? Etc."
This equates to finding a psychic reader who will tell you what you want to hear not what is the truth. The more you use automatic writing – the easier and faster it gets. Remember to save your notes!
http://www.duke.edu/web/lit132/automatic.html
Automatic writing is the most direct of Surrealist techniques. Sit at a table with pen and paper; put yourself in a 'receptive' frame mind, and start writing. Continue writing without thinking of what is
appearing beneath your pen. Write as fast as you can. If, for some reason, the flow stops, leave a space and immediately begin again by writing down the first letter of the next sentence. Choose this letter at random before you begin, for instance, a 't', and always begin this new sentence with a 't'. Although in the purest version of automatism nothing is 'corrected' or re-written the unexpected material produced by this method can be used as the basis for further composition. What is crucial is the unpremeditated free association that creates the basic text.

MY THOUGHTS OF THE HOMELESS BEFORE AND AFTER
Before I worked at Robins Hood I was one of those kids that thought the homeless,
Were dumb mean and careless, but when I started working there I started to talk to them and I felt more and more like family but after a while I guess you can say I was Kimmie the baby sis, but one day I worked all night and I was sleeping in the little room
Two of the guys Roger and Gary slept in front of the door to protect me from all the other guys not that they were bad or anything. But I knew nothing would ever happen to me. But a while after that Roger Joe and Popeye passed away. Some people say they were just bums, nobody cares but I told the people at school those men were no bums they were my family my best friend and even my brothers. So for you people who were just like I was, read this story it might change the whole way you think of the homeless?

Capitol on July 4th, Independence Day for a rally to address the continued delay by the Veteran's Administration to approve the pentacle as the Wiccan/Pagan symbol of faith on the memorial markers of our dead war heroes.
We'll be gathering between 12 noon and 4:00 pm, at Farragut Square
Which is two blocks from the White House. We will lawfully and peaceably, assemble, and send a message to our government about the free exercise of all religions. We are at a critical juncture with this issue and we need your participation!

We all know that the government local and state officials do not believe in what we do or what we believe in. With that being said lets test our abilities. Here is a map of Afghanistan. Find out where Osama Bin Ladin is.

Wassail,

DIVINATION CORNER
